With 28 years of experience in the landscaping industry, Baylands Landscaping is founded and led by Ruben, whose journey began as a young teenager working with the San Mateo County Parks & Recreation Department. His passion for horticulture led him to study environmental horticulture at Foothill College and City College of San Francisco. Ruben then transitioned into overseeing landscape maintenance crews, irrigation technicians, and landscape construction teams as a field manager for several prominent commercial landscaping companies. Over the years, he built expertise in managing corporate campuses, shopping centers, municipalities, business parks, large apartment complexes, and upscale residential properties.
Ruben’s credentials include numerous industry certifications, such as a pest control license, certified Arborist status through ISA, and Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) status through the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP), specializing in Irrigation, Construction, and Landscape Care. He also served as a judge and technical advisor for the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA), mentoring future industry professionals.
