We begin by gathering essential information, scheduling a site visit to assess the scope of work, providing an estimate, and then keeping the customer informed throughout the entire project.
What education and/or training do you have?
Ruben has an Environmental Horticulture degree from Foothill College and CCSF, holds certifications as an ISA-certified Arborist and Certified Landscape Technician, and is a licensed California Contractor and Pest Control License holder.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Inspired by his grandfather’s landscaping business and his father’s role as a city gardener, Ruben developed a passion for plants and landscape creation from an early age.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with a range of clients, including The City of San Jose, Santa Clara Housing Authority, residential homeowners, corporate campuses, shopping malls, business parks, and industrial complexes.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
In 2021, we completed a challenging irrigation and landscaping project for a residence in Mountain View. Despite difficulties with access to water piping, we successfully installed an irrigation system, impressing the homeowner with our innovative solutions.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always ensure the provider is licensed, insured, and provides a detailed written contract. Ask for references, clarify the scope of work, and maintain clear communication throughout the project.

Customers should define the scope of work, set a budget, discuss timelines, and ensure open communication about design requirements and expectations. Transparency from the start is crucial for a successful project.
